These rules may not be waived, modified, or supplemented except by WHS Athletic Booster Club of Waterloo. No modification of these rules is enforceable unless made by WHS Athletic Booster Club.
Raffle team committee members and their spouses are prohibited from purchasing chances in this raffle.
The winning ticket will be drawn at the Waterloo High School football field at half time of the Waterloo High School Varsity Football game on Friday, October 14, 2016. Any tickets not received before that time are ineligible. You need not be present to win.
Each ticket will be entered separately in the drawing. Each ticket has an equal chance to win. A maximum of 1,500 tickets will be sold.
Tickets may be purchased from the WHS Athletic Booster Club website or directly from a WHS Athletic Booster Club representative.
Due to postal regulations, raffle tickets cannot be mailed to you. A ticket receipt is not necessary to claim the prize in this drawing. After the drawing, the winner will be contacted using the name and information on the winning ticket.
A participant must be at least 18 years old to purchase a raffle ticket. At the discretion of the WHS Athletic Booster Club, the winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility before collecting the prize.
Winner notification will be made by telephone or mail. Two acceptable (as determined by the WHS Athletic Booster Club) forms of identification, at least one of which must include a photograph are required before the winner either accepts the truck or the cash prize.
The winner has the option of taking either the truck (2016 GMC Denali Truck with MSRP value up to $53,000) or $25,000 cash prize. In order to choose the truck, the winner must, within 30 days after the drawing, contact Weir Chevrolet – GMC – Buick of Red Bud to take delivery of the truck. In order to select the cash prize (instead of the truck), the winner must, within 30 days after the drawing, notify WHS Athletic Booster Club, in writing, of that choice. If the winner does not, within 30 days after the drawing, either contact Weir Chevrolet – GMC – Buick of Red Bud or notify WHS Athletic Booster Club (in writing) of a decision to take the cash prize, the winner completely forfeits all rights to claim either the truck or the cash prize.
Successive alternate backup winners will be drawn in case the initially determined winner does not claim his or her prize within 30 days (as more specifically explained in the preceding section), before taking delivery of the truck, or before giving written notice of selecting the cash prize, or is otherwise ineligible. Alternates will be drawn as necessary until the prize is claimed. The identity of an alternate winner will be disclosed only if that alternate winner becomes entitled to the prize.
Before receiving the prize (truck or cash), the winner must provide his or her social security number and other pertinent personal information, as required in order for WHS Athletic Booster Club to comply with applicable tax regulations.
In addition to the required income taxes, the winner is responsible for all related sales tax, registration, and title fees due on the conveyance of the vehicle. All transfer fees, license duties, insurance and all expenses in claiming, registering and using the truck in his or her state of residence are also the sole responsibility of the winner. The WHS Athletic Booster Club have no liability with regard to any of these expenses.
The truck will not be modified by the WHS Athletic Booster Club to meet specific local, state or country requirements. Winner agrees to accept the vehicle as built for U.S. licensing and registration requirements. Winner will be responsible for any modifications required for import to a country outside of the U.S.
Winner agrees to the use of his/her name, address, photograph or videotape likeness and statements for publicity purposes by the WHS Athletic Booster Club, and agrees to sign a publicity release without any further compensation.
The WHS Athletic Booster Club reserves the right to cancel or modify this raffle at any time, in which event its liability is limited to refunding ticket prices to participants. In the event that less than 500 tickets are sold the WHS Athletic Booster club reserves the right to modify the raffle to a 50/50 format. If more than 500 tickets are sold, but less than 1,000 are sold, the WHS Athletic Booster club reserves the right to give away the cash prize of $25,000 only. It is a criminal offense to engage in conduct designed to corrupt the outcome of a charitable gaming activity with the intent to defraud, or knowing that a fraud is being facilitated. THIS RAFFLE IS SUBJECT TO ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS, AND IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED, OR WHERE THE RAFFLE OPERATOR IS SUBJECT TO TAX ON THE FUNDS PAID FOR TICKETS.
All proceeds benefit the WHS Athletic Booster Club.
The WHS Athletic Booster Club is in no way affiliated with the Waterloo School District.
